Admission for master's degree

Each candidate will specify, in the application form, in the order of preference, the options for the specializations within the field enrolled in.

If a candidate does not wish to study a certain specialization, the candidate should not mention that specialization on the registration form. The admission of the candidates in the master fields and study programs, for the available, is done according to the general principle "option above average". Within the study programmes, the ranking is done according to the average. The average calculation is done according to the following formula:  Mg=(MLIC+MTG/I)/2, MLIC – is the final university examination (diploma) average; MTG/I – is the multiple choice test/ interview average.

In what concerns the master’s study programmes in foreign languages, The candidates will take a, eliminatory pass/fail language proficiency test on the last day of the schedule. The language of the multiple choice test or of the interview will be the language the master’s courses will be taught in. All averages are arithmetically determined, to two decimal places, truncating. The minimum admission average is five.

During each admission session, the students accepted for the fee based places are determined from among those admission candidates below the last candidate admitted for the state budget funded places, in descending order of classification, according to the admission criteria. Regarding the admission process, in the event of the existence of several candidates with equal averages for the last planned position, the following criteria will apply for the placement selection: a. the multiple choice test/interview average; b. final university examination average. During each admission session, the students accepted for the fee based places are chosen from among the admission candidates below the last one admitted on the state budget funded places, in descending order of the classification made according to the admission criteria. Those interested shall be notified of the admission results, verified and approved by the University Admission Committee, by having the results posted on the notice board of the university as well as uploaded on the university site www.usamvcluj.ro/admitere. The admission is organized according to bachelor fields of study. In the case of the admission to a study programme within a field comprising several study programmes, the principle that applies is option over average while within the study programme the ranking is done according to the average. The average over option principle implies that the ranking of candidates will be done according to the average, while their assignment for the available places will be carried out in turn, starting with the first ranked to the last, according to the order of the options specified in the application form. During the admission process, in the event of several candidates with equal averages, the high school examination grades will be used as additional placement test as follows: 1.
